YO JOE!

I hated TRANSFORMERS: THE RISE OF THE FALLEN. I honestly don't think that the person who wrote it was a fan of the cartoon or comic book, because I felt no connection to any of the characters and could only tell a few of them apart from each other. Before the movie started, the showed the trailer for G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA. Now I must confess that I saw the "official novel of the blockbuster film" at TARGET for $5.00, so I thought I would read it and be crushed of how they ruined G.I. JOE. Get ready for your heart to stop, but I am shocked at just how much I am enjoying the novel. Yes, things in the novel are VERY different from the toys and cartoons, but the plot does move towards something, unlike TRANSFORMERS which went no where. Here are some SPOILERS from the novel, that may or may not make it to the movie. Once again--SPOILERS!
*DUKE and RIPCORD are not members of the team quite yet
*DUKE asked a young Baroness to marry him
*DESTRO does have a gold mask, but has not yet worn it in the book
*COBRA COMMANDER has yet to appear or be mentioned in the book, but Baroness is married to a man named Baron Leon DeCobray
*Those stupid robot suits that make the JOES faster really aren't mentioned too much
*ZARTAN may be the surprise hit character of the movie
*SCARLET is not romantically involved with DUKE (cartoon) or Snake Eyes (comic book), but appears to be interested in Ripcord
*COVER GIRL is a minor character

Covergirl should not be in the movie. It's all about Lady Jaye. But if this sucks, perhaps it was for the best
