TEST

I finally got my results from my test for the case manager position--and I did not pass. I'm upset. Even though I tried my best, I still failed. With that failure I allowed myself to become very depressed and I could feel all of my progress that I have made thus far go right out the window. I constantly have to tell myself that this type of thinking isn't good for me and that there will be other opportunities in the future--even if I sometimes don't believe it. This year has been really hard on me both emotionally and physically. I've seen people who I thought were my friends turn their back on me. I've got to move forward--but just once, I'd like to be the one who passes the test.

H O U S E

I love horror movies, so I was pleasantly surprised when a new horror movie titled HOUSE came to Bakersfield. Knowing how fast horror movies last around here, I took Paul with me on Saturday afternoon to see it. Now, I knew it wasn't a remake of the 80's classic HOUSE--but I at least thought it would be at least a little scary since it was rated "R". It wasn't. It wasn't interesting, the acting was terrible, and we walked out without seeing the movie. As we left (you know I got my money back!), I told the manager what a dud the film was--and she told me that "..Christian films aren't for everyone!" and I was confused because I had no idea that house was considered to be a religious movie. I actually don't have too much of a problem with that. Homophobic Kirk Cameron wasn't in it and looking back on the film, the religious aspects were subtle. Still, the movie SUCKED!

GAY WORLD

I am so in love with AS THE WORLD TURNS !! Just to catch some of you up with the story--Noah ended the relationship with Luke because he discovered that Luke cheated in the race for student body president! Of course, Luke got drunk and was starting fights with everyone, until Brian (his grandmother's new husband) took him home to sober him up. While Luke was crying, Brian kissed Luke on the lips!

I LOVE THIS STUFF!

WALL*E

Tim bought WALL*E on DVD today. I thought I would have problems with liking WALL*E, but he quickly captures your heart. Although not my favorite Pixar movie, I really did like it.

DAYS GONE BY

"Days of Our Lives' much-beloved romantic duo and longtime stars Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn have been cut from NBC's only soap as it deals with budget cuts, the show announced in a statement Wednesday. The shocking layoffs of the highly-paid veteran soap actors who play Dr. Marlena Evans and John Black come after the show's producers cut spending earlier this month to keep the Days on the air for at least another 18 months. The good news, if any, for fans, is that after a yearlong separation on the show, Marlena and Black will be reunited as a couple before leaving the show next year.Hall has been on the 43-year-old soap on and off since 1976, while Hogestyn was joined in 1984 as mystery man John Black, who initially turned out to be Marlena's presumed dead husband, Roman, who was played by Wayne Northrop. It gets much more complicated from there, but to say the least, their romance was legendary in daytime television.Hall crossed over to prime time in 1986 when she starred in Our House alongside Wilford Brimley and a young Shannen Doherty."

My soaps are all coming to an end!

Avengers?

Who are THE DARK AVENGERS?

Many years ago, my best friend Alex and I had a fight/disagreement. Our friendship didn't end badly--it just came to an end. Because of our fight, I didn't invite him to my commitment ceremony in Las Vegas (and obviously, he wasn't my best man--although my mother made a point that he should have been) and we didn't speak for maybe 2 years. Of course I missed him, but I was too stupid to call him first. Thankfully, Alex was the bigger person and called me out of the blue and slowly our friendship developed again and I think we're now closer than ever.
Yesterday, Alex told me that he ran into Creepy Chris Bob while going to work. Creepy Chris Bob told him that he was "..glad all of the drama was over and hoped that things could return back to normal" becuase he missed the group. As my loyal readers know--Creepy Chris Bob made a play for the Quilter after I asked him not to pursue that. I told him I would be very uncomfortable, but he chose to chase after Quiter anyway. I later discovered that Creepy Chris Bob was using MySpace as a forum to make fun of me, and of course, I had to use all of my coven's power to teach Creepy Chris Bob a lesson--which resulted in his sister in-law threatning to call my work and tell them I was harassing Creepy Chris Bob. I told her to do what she had to do, and naturally she didn't do shit.
My question is why are we able to work out our problems with some and not give a crap about others? Creepy Chris Bob will never be welcomed in my home, nor would my friends be accepting of him--so why in the hell would he want to be invited back? I don't understand people.

PRIDE

I just wanted to say that I am very proud of the gay and lesbian community in Bakersfield, as we have proudly united against Prop 8. We are going to fight the battle for equal rights just as hard as the big cities are doing. I am proud.

MEAT

Wow.
I finally saw THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN on a "movies on demand" channel on television for free tonight! Although I would have loved to have seen this one at the movies, I was finally able to experience this movie--which wasn't scary, but was gory and interesting. I really think this would have been a hit had LIONSGATE released it in more theaters.

X-MEN?

Comic book are getting mighty expensive. Most titles from Marvel Comics and DC Comics start at $ 2.99, so I've got to start eliminating some books from my monthly pull-list. The first title to get the axe: X-Men titles. Let me just come right out and say that the X-Men books are terrible and in need of some help.
1. I'm not a big fan of the team in San Fransisco and there being a hundred mutants on the team--that makes the team less mysterious and more ordinary.
2. Please have someone write Storm corrcectly! I hate seeing Storm talking with Emma Frost like they are buddies--they should HATE each other!
3. Former New X-Men member Pixie went from being a young girl around 13 to a mature woman in her twenties once joining the X-Men. Ick.
4. Where are the villains? I'm supposed to be excited about the new Hellfire Cult? I'm not.
5. For those of you still reading ASTONISHING X-MEN--please tell me what is going on! That title is terrible.
6. X-FORCE isn't that bad, other than the fact that they are killing people while wearing really bad uniforms. The masks with the glowing red eyes is really dorky.
7. YOUNG X-MEN is at least showing me a bit of potential, but I really am not a fan of the characters on that team. Dusk is boring. Rockslide is annoying. Have Danni Moonstar form a new team of mutants (heck, we'll call it THE NEW MUTANTS) that I actually care about.
Goodbye for now, my X-Men friends.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUILTER

Today is Quilter's birthday. Before everyone throws up, I called to wish him a very happy birthday. Our conversation was civil--he insisted upon telling me how fantastic his trip to Las Vegas was (where he claims to have danced until 5 a.m.) and how incredibly busy he is at work. I even asked him how Bi-Sexual Boyfriend was and he said "it is what it is" (I have no clue what that even means). He even expressed to me that he would like us all to go to Oil Can Harry's and go dancing some weekend. Oh, he also threw in how attractive people find him and how so many people tell him that he's quite the catch. Yeah, I am serious.

SLEEPAWAY

The original SLEEPAWAY CAMP holds a very special place in my heart, as I adore the poor acting, bad clothes, and of course, the classic ending. I bought RETURN TO SLEEPAWAY CAMP at Target tonight because Fangoria magazine gave it a fair review. Although it isn't campy or gory, I did enjoy the movie--manily because one of the child actors is simply incredible to watch. If you can't figure out who the killer is within the first 5 minutes of this movie, you are in trouble!

Keeping It Real

I really do love THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA on Bravo. The drama! The gossip! The money! The fighting! I wish this show was on every single day! Love it!

UGLY

It recently came to my attention that someone (that I have never even met before) was speaking ill of me, and decided to post how they felt about me on their friend's Myspace comments page. This person said that:
* I needed to return to the mental asylum
* I am a retard
* I look like a "fucking ugly Oompa Loompa"
Wow! The first two I really don't have much of a problem with, but an Oompa Loompa? I mean, I just don't see it? What do you all thing?

SHAME ON YOU!

I just got home from a NO ON PROP 8 rally. It started at about 5:30 pm and lasted until about 8:30 pm. Personally, I thought there was quite a lot of people at the rally (I should add that I was joined by Alex, Tim, and Paul) and it turned out to be a lot of fun. Here is a list of some of the comments that were shouted to us as we held our NO ON PROP 8 signs:

1. Go back in the closet!

2. Faggots! Yes, on Prop 8! You fuckin' faggots!

3. Shame on you! Go to church!

4. What about the kids? I don't 'em gay!

Of course, the real high point of the evening was when a group of young kids spit at us--nearly hitting Paul. Name calling is one thing, but spitting? Yuck. Tomorrow is an important day. I'm excited. Please vote.

THE FUTURE

On Halloween night, I was simply amazed at how many of the kids (and parents) made it a point to say how much they liked seeing our NO ON PROP 8 sign in my yard. Perhaps the future isn't so dark after all...
